The Commercial and Financial Law Reporter (CFLR) is a platform dedicated to intensive research in the field of Commercial and Financial Law. The CFLR emboldens an idea of innovation and synergy in Commercial and Financial Laws and provides a holistic understanding of the subjects. We welcome students and professionals to contribute their unique and distinctive ideas to simulate a discourse among the legal fraternity.

Apart from inviting submissions on rolling basis, the blog also releases monthly series on burning legal issues and invites opinions from the students and practitioners.

Mr. Sumit Agarwal, Managing Partner at Regstreet Law Advisors Mumbai

Mr. Sumit has worked with SEBI from 2007 to 2016. During his stint, he has worked with various verticals viz. Integrated Surveillance, Legal Affairs and Regulatory Policy, Commodities Derivatives, and Enforcement’ s SAT Litigation. He is also an author of India’ s first and only comprehensive commentary book on SEBI Act 1992. Mr. Sumit speaks on capital markets & securities laws at various institutions including NISM, BSE, & GLC, Mumbai.

Mr. V. Sivasubramanian, Partner at HSB Partners & Insolvency Professional

Sivasubramanian V is a partner at HSB Partners, Chennai. He worked in various government positions including Indian Revenue Services (IRS) before joining legal fraternity. Before joining HSB Partners, he worked as executive partner at Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan (LKS).
He is guest faculty at IIM Bangalore and National Institute of Financial Management. He did his LLB from Mewar University, was an IIT Kanpur 1988 MSc alumnus and and an IIM Bangalore Public Policy & Management Alumnus and also, works as Insolvency Professional and Cost Accountant.

Dr. Akshaya Kamalnath , Lecturer, Auckland University of Technology

Dr Akshaya Kamalnath is a lecturer at Auckland University of Technology, School of Law School in New Zealand. She has a PhD from Deakin University (Australia), LLM from NYU Law (U.S.A.) and BA/LLB from NALSAR University of Law (India). Her research and teaching areas are corporate law, corporate governance, and corporate insolvency law. She has published articles in leading American and Australian journals, and also blogs at The Hitchhikers Guide to Corporate Governance. Akshaya has also worked as a lecturer at Deakin Law School and as an assistant professor at NALSAR University of Law. Before entering academia, Akshaya worked in Amarchand Mangaldas Associates (Bangalore)

Mr. Tariq Ahmed Khan, Principle Associate at Advani & Co.

Mr. Tariq Khan is a Principal Associate, working in Dispute Resolution team, Advani & Co., New Delhi. He represented various MSMEs, PSUs, and other undertakings in commercial disputes. He was appointed as an administrative secretary by the arbitral tribunal in Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) arbitration. He has been teaching as guest faculty in various law schools across New Delhi and NCR including Indian Law Institute. Recently, he had been featured in Fortune 500 (India) magazine (Special Issue, 2017-2018) for authoring the best seller book ‘On the Rise’ by Universal Law Publishing (an imprint of Lexis Nexis). He has published articles at various reputed platforms

Mr. Ajar Rab, Partner Rab & Rab Associates.

Ajar Rab is a partner at Rab & Rab Associates LLP, Dehradun, International Arbitrator, and a Visiting Professor at National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore and National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in international commercial arbitration from Bucerius Law School, Germany. Mr. Rab has also authored a book on real estate law, and his work on commercial law and arbitration is published regularly in various reputed national and international journal
